Questions people ask before they call.

Straight answers about turf in Phoenix and the East Valley. If yours is not here, call or text Clay.

The basics

Is artificial turf a good fit for Arizona yards?

Yes. You get a green lawn without mowing, watering or constant upkeep.

What kinds of turf are there?

Modern turf comes in different colors, textures, blade shapes and densities. There are options for front lawns, family back yards and pet areas.

How long does turf last?

Quality turf typically lasts 15 to 20 years with proper installation and care, depending on use and conditions. Our turf carries a 15-year manufacturer warranty, subject to the manufacturer's terms.

Does turf get hot?

In full Phoenix sun, yes. Product color, blade shape, infill and shade planning can make it run cooler underfoot. A quick rinse cools it for a while. Our turf is American made and chosen for Arizona conditions.

Can turf go over dirt?

Yes. We grade the yard and build a proper base first, then lay the turf on top.

Installation and price

What decides the price?

Project size, turf type, the condition of the existing ground and the prep it needs. Those are the things that move the number.

Are estimates free?

Yes. The Design My Yard tool measures your yard first, so we start from real numbers.

How long does an install take?

Smaller residential installs are often done in under a day. Larger ones take a day or two or longer, depending on size and complexity.

Can you install turf on a slope?

Sloped yards usually work. The method depends on how steep it is, the drainage and the terrain. We check it on site.

Dogs and kids

Is turf good for dogs?

It is durable, and it ends mud and worn patches. A dog run or the whole yard both work.

What happens when a dog pees on it?

All the turf we install has 100 percent permeable backing, so liquid passes through to a prepared drainage base. Regular rinsing still matters.

Is turf okay for kids to play on?

Turf is common in residential play areas. The right product and setup matter, so tell us how the kids use the yard.

Care and drainage

Is turf maintenance free?

No, but it takes far less than grass. There is no mowing and no irrigation. Remove leaves and debris, rinse when needed and brush it occasionally. Pet areas need it more often.

What happens when it rains?

Water passes through the permeable backing. Grading and base prep keep it from collecting.

Does turf work around a pool?

Yes. It works next to pool decks, patios and walkways, with no clippings and no mud.

Putting greens and pavers

Can I fit a putting green in a small yard?

Yes. Putting greens fit small yards as well as large ones.

Does turf go well with pavers?

Yes. Turf pairs with travertine pavers for patios, walkways and seating areas.

What else do you build?

Custom putting greens, dog runs, decorative rock, travertine pavers and low-voltage landscape lighting.
